Members power us.

Join the Mount Work Coalition by signing up for the newsletter to help strengthen our ability to protect Mount Work Regional Park, Durrance Lake and surrounding habitat, farms and communities.

The safety of the habitat, trails, farms, local food and the people who use the area and live nearby depends on all of us.

Our primary goal is to encourage all levels of government to make policy and development decisions on the basis of community consultation, evidence-based research, and long-term, well thought out solutions.

Mission:

  • Provide evidence-based information on the impact of toxic biosolids and landfill development and resulting GHG emissions on climate change at the Capital Regional District Hartland landfill.

  • Ensure the CRD and its municipalities put the health and safety of their residents, Hartland employees, ecosystems, the local farms and food security first.

  • Promote the protection and stewardship of the limited green spaces on the Saanich Peninsula and comply with the Species at Risk Act by protecting endangered species in the park and region.

  • Champion the health and safety of the Victoria, Juan de Fuca and Saanich Peninsula residents (hikers, cyclists, fishers, dog walkers and picnickers) who regularly use this green space for sports and recreation.

We feel that the people we elect to represent us and those paid with tax dollars should value your health and the health of this watershed and its ecosystems.
